Axel Zwingenberger's Concert Express is the realization of a dream: travelling aboard a historic train – ideally hauled by a steam locomotive – while enjoying outstanding live music by renowned artists up close in an intimate, club-like atmosphere inside open-plan carriages, as well as delicious meals served in dining cars.
The Concert Express is currently not in operation. However, we are working on bringing it back into service.

The Concert Express consists of a variety of historic carriages with fascinating stories to tell, hauled by a historic steam locomotive. With its unique charm, it is ideally suited to very special events and, of course, unforgettable journeys for railway enthusiasts.
The Restoration
Starting in 2000, numerous historic carriages were restored, including:
- Salon carriages
- Salon sleeping carriages
- Dining cars
- Bar / dining cars
- Work / planning carriages
Restored with great skill and enthusiasm, many of these comfortable carriages are now fully operational once again!

The only ministerial salon carriage from the former GDR government salon train fleet to have been restored to operational condition so far.
The party / lounge carriage, a unique vehicle from the NVA train (National People's Army of the GDR). Even Erich Honecker enjoyed several drinks here!
